Handbuilding (sculpture)

In this 4 week sessions, we will focus on themed projects that includes all 3 handbuilding techniques (coils, pinch pots, and slab construction) as well as exploring surface design and glazing techniques!

Past project themes have included, Animals, Under The Sea, Camping, Creatures/Monsters, Mythical Creatures, Holidays, Self-Portraits, Seasonal, Food, Outer Space, and Nature. Teachers will select themes based on each camp session.

There will also be time for clay exploration and some, “process” based activities to build confidence and skill level with clay, as well as critical thinking and creativity.

Students will make between 4-6 fired creations!

Aprons provided, but send kids in clothes/shoes that can get messy.

Includes clay, use of studio tools + supplies and firing fees.
