Morning Handbuilding
Instructor: Sarah
6-10yrs | 9am-12pm
This is a Hand-building class! Great for all experience levels. We will use 3 hand-building techniques to construct a variety of Plant Themed pottery. Students will learn how to coil, use pinch pots, and slab construction to make a variety of projects. Students may also use plaster molds and other tools/templates to create their work.
Weekly Schedule:
Monday - Mini Project: Flower Petal Bowl
Tuesday - Large Project: Design and sculpt a Mushroom Planter
Wednesday - Large Project: Continue work on Mushroom Planter
Thursday - Finishing touches on all sculptural elements. Possible Mini Project (if time allows): Leaf Dish with Ladybugs. Start glazing
Friday - GLAZE DAY!
* ALL STUDENT WORK WILL BE FIRED AND RETURNED 2 WEEKS AFTER THE LAST DAY OF THEIR CLASS. PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL.
Morning Wheel

10-14yrs | 9:30am-12:30pm
This is a Wheel Throwing and Hand-building class! Great for all experience levels. In this class, students will work on the potter’s wheels to learn the basics of throwing; centering, opening, and pulling walls to make cylinders for cups or bowls. They will then use a variety of hand-building techniques to alter or add sculptural elements to those wheel thrown pieces.
Weekly Schedule:
Monday - Guided Practice on the wheel - Bowls
Tuesday - Independent Practice on the wheel - Mugs, bowls, cups
Wednesday - Handbuilding attachments/sculptural additives and details
Thursday - Finish handbuilding attachments, Glaze Day 1
Friday - GLAZE DAY 2

Afternoon Wheel
