This is a Hand-building class! Great for all experience levels. In this class, students will learn and use a variety of handbuilding techniques including: pinch pots, coils, and slab construction. Great for fine motor skill development, as well as understanding process in art making. Students will explore additive and subtractive sculpture, and focus on texture, functionality, and form. All while playing with clay and getting dirty!
October (Fall Break) Mini Camp - OCT 10-11 + 14th - 3 days
November Mini Camp - NOV 25-27 - 3 days
December Mini Camp - Week 1 - DEC 30&31 - 2 days
January Mini Camp - Week 2 - Jan 2&3 - 2 days
Camp Themes:
October - Sweet & Spooky - In this 3 day mini camp, students will make a variety of Fall/Halloween inspired projects. Projects include: Ghost/Monster sculptures and their very own Halloween candy bowls! They will construct on Friday and Glaze on Monday!
November - Cozy Times with Friends and Family - In this 3 day mini camp, students will make a variety of pieces meant to be shared with friends and family. Projects include : Fall Leaf Bowls (impressions/plant pressings with leaves) and a sweet little Owl Planter. Students will construct on Days 1 & 2 and glaze on the last day!
December - Handmade Holidays - In these 2 day mini camps, students will make a variety of Winter/Holiday inspired projects. Projects include : Handmade Penguin or Polar Bear Cups, Winter Tree Sculptures, and Winter Gnomes!
Students will construct their projects on Day 1 and glaze on Day 2!
* ALL STUDENT WORK WILL BE FIRED AND RETURNED 2 WEEKS AFTER THE LAST DAY OF THEIR CLASS. PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL.
