10-16yrs | 1-4pm | Altered Wheel
This is a half-day camp! Great for all experience levels. Morning Camp students will learn and use a variety of handbuilding techniques including: pinch pots, coils, and slab construction. Afternoon campers will work with handbuilding techniques as well as throw on the Pottery Wheel! Great for fine motor skill development, as well as understanding process in art making.
Students will explore additive and subtractive sculpture, and focus on texture, functionality, and form. They will also explore a variety of surface design and glazing techniques. All while playing with clay, making creative connections, and getting dirty!

FOR THE LITTLEST ARTISTS!! Think Storytime but with clay!!
This toddler class (2-4) introduces clay as a fun art medium while also promoting fine motor skill development, understanding the art making process, and getting a little bit dirty!

Clay is a wonderful medium for young children. From helping to develop and support fine/gross motor skills, to aiding in understanding process. product, and harnessing a growth mindset, clay is THE BEST. In this class, we will focus on a variety of hand building techniques, additive/subtractive sculpture, and lots of surface design and glazing. Projects include: cups, bowls, wall hangings, free standing sculptures, and a free choice project!

In this beginner class, students will be introduced to the world of clay through the pottery wheel. Students will create functional pieces such as bowls and mugs on the wheel and incorporate surface design and color with glazes.

Both a wheel throwing and hand-building class! In this class, students will work on the potter’s wheels to learn the basics of throwing. As well as, learn a variety of hand-building techniques to alter or add sculptural elements to those wheel thrown pieces.

This 6 session class focuses on handbuilding (anything in ceramics not made on a wheel)… In this Intro to Sculpting course, you will learn sculpting techniques that will aid you in creating things such as figures, animals, and so much more. Your instructor Lara has over ten years of sculpting experience and will help you take your imaginative ideas and bring them to life. ALL LEVELS WELCOME!
