In these 2 hour workshops, we will use a variety of handbuilding techniques (sculpting with your…you got it, hands) - no pottery wheels used in these workshops.

Glaze Your Pumpkin

Part Une :

We will draw inspo from different shapes and sizes of pumpkins to confirm they are in fact, not perfectly round like the one in Charlie Brown like we all grew up thinking they were! We will use basic handbuilding techniques (pinch pots, paddling, and coils) to create form, texture, and Non-tomato-like pumpkins.

Part Deux :

We will explore a variety of glaze techniques (including dipping, layering, and hand-painting) as well as other options for surface design

SPirit Mugs

Saturday October 9th 530-730pm

For our inspiration here, think “Casper” the Friendly Ghost more than,

“Sixth Sense - I see dead people” kinds of ghosts.

We don’t want your kids opening the kitchen cabinet screaming all winter, or do we?

In this 2 hour workshop you will hand-paint charming little apparitions on your handmade mug! First, we will use the method of slab construction to create your mug. We will also explore handles and basic surface design.

Class wraps up with a simple glaze demo of using a, “watercolor” like technique to get these ghosts looking light as a feather…stiff as board (no one?)

Spooky Season is our absolute favorite and it’s right around the corner!

In this 2 hour workshop you will use handbuilding techniques to create this sweet little spirit incense burner. You will also learn a variety of simple glaze techniques and explore options for surface design.

Includes a couple little incense bricks to get you started!
